2nd Stage of Program Plan

1. Building Receptive Language usining matching, action imitation and sorting

It's time to teach child grouping of objects and categories. Kids may stay focused in familiar surroundings and routines but get distracted by the change of scenery. Working with increasing number of objects in pictures with backgrounds helps them build better visual focus and attention.
Receptive and expressive emotions and verbs should be taught by DTT and gross motor action imitations.

2. Expressive Communication via ......sentense strips

By this time child has started making spontaneous request, verbal or with the help of pecs. Child also starts showing more interest in picture and word association and can be taught tasks thru task analysis.

Teach him carry sentences, like I can... I have..., This is a ....with the help of sentence strip and appropriate pec.

Articulation can be helped and tuned further by working on beginning and ending sounds, like rhyming words, along with oral motor imitation.

3. Tracing and Drawing

Start with drawing facial features, happy, sad and simple drawing . Tracing and than drawing or drawing with a visual step by step program, instructions should be introduced. Also teach the child to trace name and numbers, starting with a large font and capital letters and reduce the size as child gets more comfortable with the task

4. Word & Picture Association

Continue to build on this concept both by spelling and cut and paste activities. Start with the more preferred activity and slowly introduce the second one.

5. Personalized Books and Action Songs

Make album books with a simple sentence structure for the child . Use pictures of family, teachers, friends, home, school, favourite toys, dishes and sort them out into objecs, people, places. Also make your own song books, by printing out your child's favourite sing along songs, favourite lyrics, commercials etc.
